About This Piece
From the first sketch to the final varnish, A Man in Armour (Alexander the Great) is made by hand. Based on Rembrandt van Rijn's original. This classical oil painting wall decor is crafted on artist-grade canvas for anyone who wants fine art oil painting with the character of an original.
The Story Behind the Painting
circa 1655
Oil on canvas
137.5 cm (54.13 in.) x 104.4 cm (41.1 in.)
Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, Glasgow, United Kingdom.
The fine art subject is rebuilt stroke by stroke in oil, giving the finished canvas the depth expected of classical oil painting wall decor.
100% Hand Painted on Canvas
We use a 100% hand-painted process: stretched artist-grade canvas, layered oil pigment, and a final protective varnish. There are no inkjet prints or mechanical reproductions in this collection — just a painted fine art artwork made to order.
