A Sketch of My Hound "Kuttie" - William Merritt Chase - Canvas Wall Art
About This Piece
A Sketch of My Hound "Kuttie" by William Merritt Chase is one of those images that never dates. Our studio recreates it as a hand painted oil painting — textured, color-rich, and ready to hang as canvas wall art in a home office, study, or reception area.
About the Artwork
circa 1885
Oil on panel
Private collection.
As office wall decor, the piece pairs naturally with other romantic wall art and with warm neutrals, timber, and soft natural light.
How It Is Made
Trained artists work in stages — underpainting, mid-tones, highlights, and detail — using traditional oils on canvas. Because nothing is printed, every hand painted oil painting has its own subtle texture and depth.
What Is Included
- Genuine hand painted oil painting on premium artist canvas; no printing or digital imaging is used.
- Edges include an additional 2-inch blank allowance, ideal for gallery wrapping or framing.
- Sold studio-direct and shipped worldwide, with no intermediary markup.
- Quick turnaround — most in-stock wildlife paintings ship in 3–10 working days.
- Available canvas sizes for this hand painted oil painting: 20 X 24 in, 24 X 36 in, 30 X 40 in, 36 X 48 in, 48 X 72 in.

- We work with DHL, UPS, FedEx, USPS and additional couriers to keep delivery affordable.
- Complimentary stretching over wooden stretcher bars; ask us about a custom frame.
- A digital photo of your finished painting is emailed for approval before shipment.
Styling & Placement
For office wall decor that does not feel generic, a painted wildlife canvas is hard to beat. It is a popular wildlife oil painting pick for new homeowners and a durable alternative to seasonal poster art.
