Among the Sierra Nevada Mountains, California - Albert Bierstadt - Landscape Oil Painting Wall Decor suits both traditional and modern interiors. As a landscape oil painting, it works as a standalone focal point or as part of a bedroom gallery wall, and unlike a print it is genuinely hand painted in oils.
1868
Oil on canvas
183 cm (72.05 in.) x 305 cm (120.08 in.)
Smithsonian American Art Museum, Washington DC, United States.
The painting, with all of its romanticism, is typical of Bierstadt, who so often performed to his audience with an exaggerated, yet idealized view of Western America. Lush waterfalls flow into a small lake, barely displaying any movement from the current; allowing for the reflection of the surrounding scenery upon it. The lighting is almost certainly the essential element that provokes the feeling of peacefulness, which is generally conjured from this painting. Sun rays bursting through an intensely clouded sky illuminate the visionary perfection of the mountains and lake.
‘Among the Sierra Nevada Mountains, California', complete with its lustrous foliage and epic skyline amidst a majestic mountain range, was one of many of his works that helped to strengthen the idea that America was the "Promised Land", during the time when many hopeful Europeans were immigrating to the country in search of a better life.
As bedroom wall art, the piece pairs naturally with other refined wall art and with warm neutrals, timber, and soft natural light.
Materials matter for refined wall decor. That is why this piece is built on artist-grade canvas with lightfast oil colors, applied by hand rather than output from a printer, and sealed for long-term display.
Style it over a fireplace, behind a reading chair, or along a staircase. Wherever it goes, this refined oil painting wall decor adds the layered color that only a hand painted canvas provides.
Whether the search term is landscape oil painting, bedroom wall art, or refined oil painting wall decor, this hand painted canvas delivers the same thing: a real painted surface, made to your chosen dimensions.
