Apple Tree in Bloom (Epletre i blomst) by Nikolai Astrup is one of those images that never dates. Our studio recreates it as a hand painted oil painting — textured, color-rich, and ready to hang as canvas wall art in a living room, study, or reception area.
1926
Oil on canvas
78 x 100 cm
Bergen Kunstmuseum, Norway.
Apple Tree in Bloom (c 1927) shows a much more substantial if not industrial building, with the trees in full blossom and the marsh marigolds in flower.
The landscape subject is rebuilt stroke by stroke in oil, giving the finished canvas the depth expected of romantic oil painting wall decor.
Trained artists work in stages — underpainting, mid-tones, highlights, and detail — using traditional oils on canvas. Because nothing is printed, every hand painted oil painting has its own subtle texture and depth.
For living room wall decor that does not feel generic, a painted landscape canvas is hard to beat. It is a popular landscape oil painting pick for new homeowners and a durable alternative to seasonal poster art.
