Arrangement in Grey: Portrait of the Painter - James Abbott McNeill Whistler - Canvas Oil Painting
About This Piece
Nothing softens a hallway like a painted surface. Arrangement in Grey: Portrait of the Painter by James Abbott McNeill Whistler arrives as a hand painted oil painting on canvas, offering the figurative detail, soft gradients, and tactile finish that portrait oil painting shoppers look for.
About the Artwork
1872
Oil on canvas
Detroit Institute of the Arts, United States.
The figurative subject is rebuilt stroke by stroke in oil, giving the finished canvas the depth expected of romantic oil painting wall decor.
How It Is Made
Trained artists work in stages — underpainting, mid-tones, highlights, and detail — using traditional oils on canvas. Because nothing is printed, every hand painted oil painting has its own subtle texture and depth.
What Is Included
- Every figurative canvas is hand painted in oils; no mechanical or digital reproduction at any stage.
- Edges include an additional 2-inch blank allowance, ideal for gallery wrapping or framing.
- Studio-direct pricing and worldwide shipping on every portrait oil painting order.
- Available canvas sizes for this hand painted oil painting: 20 X 24 in, 24 X 36 in, 30 X 40 in, 36 X 48 in, 48 X 72 in.
- Any size you need can be produced — just tell us your preferred dimensions.
- We work with DHL, UPS, FedEx, USPS and additional couriers to keep delivery affordable.
- Free canvas stretching on wooden stretcher bars; custom framing available on request.
- We send a digital image of your figurative painting for approval before it ships.
