Beach Scene with Lighthouse (Children at the Seashore) by Maurice Brazil Prendergast

Beach Scene with Lighthouse (Children at the Seashore) - Maurice Brazil Prendergast - Canvas Wall Art

Product Overview

Beach Scene with Lighthouse (Children at the Seashore) - Maurice Brazil Prendergast - Canvas Wall Art suits both traditional and modern interiors. As a portrait oil painting, it works as a standalone focal point or as part of a bedroom gallery wall, and unlike a print it is genuinely hand painted in oils.

Composition & Subject

circa 1900-1902
Monotype on paper
Metropolitan Museum of Art, United States.

As bedroom wall art, the piece pairs naturally with other romantic wall art and with warm neutrals, timber, and soft natural light.

Materials & Craftsmanship

Trained artists work in stages — underpainting, mid-tones, highlights, and detail — using traditional oils on canvas. Because nothing is printed, every hand painted oil painting has its own subtle texture and depth.
