Upgrade your walls with Breton Boats - Edgar Alwin Payne - Hand Painted Oil Painting. Every landscape reproduction is painted entirely by hand, so the surface carries the depth and variation of an original oil painting rather than the flatness of a digital canvas print.
Oil on canvas
33.5 x 39.5 in. (85.1 x 100.3 cm.)
Breton Boats was likely painted after Payne visited Europe in 1922-24 where he became enamored with the many fishing boats he saw in the harbors of Concarneau. The artist executed a series of sketches and oil studies of this subject to familiarize himself with the vessels themselves and used these studies to complete larger, finished examples like the present work. Breton Boats demonstrates Payne's mastery of this subject and his ability to capture bold light and color within an expressive surface.
The landscape subject is rebuilt stroke by stroke in oil, giving the finished canvas the depth expected of elegant oil painting wall decor.
Each canvas is painted entirely by hand with professional oil paints on artist-grade cotton canvas. No printing, giclée, or digital imaging is used at any stage, so the surface keeps the slight relief and color variation of real brushwork.
This landscape oil painting wall decor is equally at home in a residence, a boutique hotel, or a professional office. Its elegant character makes it a safe, distinctive gift for anyone furnishing a living room.
