By the River of Tuonela - Akseli Gallen-Kallela - Oil Painting Wall Decor

About This Piece

Choose By the River of Tuonela as a hand painted oil painting and skip the compromise of printed wall decor. Based on Akseli Gallen-Kallela's original. Our artists rebuild the landscape composition stroke by stroke, producing traditional canvas wall art with lasting color depth.

Composition & Subject

1903
tempera on canvas
Ateneumin Taidemuseo - Suomen Kansallisgalleria, Helsinki, Finland.

As dining room wall art, the piece pairs naturally with other traditional wall art and with warm neutrals, timber, and soft natural light.

Materials & Craftsmanship

Oil on canvas remains the reference standard for traditional reproductions. Our artists apply pigment by hand, blending the landscape tones directly on the surface for depth that a printed landscape oil painting simply cannot match.
