Oil on canvas
77 x 100 cm.
Where we were walking in the day's light, seeing
the flight of bones to the stars, the voyage of dead men,
those who go forth like dead leaves on the air
in the long journey, those who are swept
on the last current, the cold and shoreless ones,
who do not speak, do not answer, have no names,
nor are assembled again by any thought, but voyage
in the wide circle, the great circle
where we were talking, in the day's light, watching...
-from Time in the Rock; Conrad Aiken
As hallway wall art, the piece pairs naturally with other classic wall art and with warm neutrals, timber, and soft natural light.
