About This Piece
"Elis", a chestnut racehorse with John Day Snr. up, by a gate - John Frederick Herring Sr - Romantic Oil Painting is part of our hand painted oil painting collection from the John Frederick Herring Sr Paintings selection. Each canvas is worked by a trained artist, then inspected before dispatch — a practical route to owning romantic wall decor at a fraction of gallery pricing.
The Story Behind the Painting
Painted by hand after John Frederick Herring Sr, this fine art scene keeps the warmth of the original while gaining the durability of a modern canvas support. It is frequently chosen as dining room wall art and as fine art oil painting for hallways, studies, and open-plan living spaces.
Materials & Craftsmanship
Trained artists work in stages — underpainting, mid-tones, highlights, and detail — using traditional oils on canvas. Because nothing is printed, every hand painted oil painting has its own subtle texture and depth.
