The Story Behind the Painting
circa 1895
watercolor and gouache over pencil on paper
Private collection.
The landscape subject is rebuilt stroke by stroke in oil, giving the finished canvas the depth expected of traditional oil painting wall decor.
100% Hand Painted on Canvas
Oil on canvas remains the reference standard for traditional reproductions. Our artists apply pigment by hand, blending the landscape tones directly on the surface for depth that a printed landscape oil painting simply cannot match.
