For collectors searching still life oil painting, Flowers with Green Pitcher is a dependable choice. Painted in layered oils on canvas after Pierre Bonnard, this post-impressionist work reads equally well as classic canvas wall art and as a thoughtful housewarming gift.
FLEURS AU PICHET VERT
circa 1920
Oil on canvas
When one covers a surface with colors one should always be able to try any number of new approaches, find a never-ending supply of new combinations of forms and colors which satisfy emotional needs' (Pierre Bonnard, quoted in Dita Amory (ed.), Pierre Bonnard: The Late Still Lifes and Interiors (exhibition catalogue), The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, 2009, p. 13).
Every hand painted oil painting in this still life series is finished on artist-grade canvas and checked against the original before it leaves the studio.
Oil on canvas remains the reference standard for post-impressionist reproductions. Our artists apply pigment by hand, blending the still life tones directly on the surface for depth that a printed still life oil painting simply cannot match.
post-impressionist canvas wall art is one of the easiest ways to warm a living room. Pair this piece with natural linen, dark wood, or brushed brass, and let the hand painted surface do the rest.
