Painting depicts Edith’s Vicker's children, Vincent Cartwright and Edith Dorothy, watering plants in a garden surrounded by large white lilies. Painting's original is in the Flint Institute of Art in Flint, Michigan, and considered to be one of his most noteworthy paintings. Albert Vicker’s brother, Thomas, and wife, Frances Mary Hodges, traveled to Paris to identify an artist to paint their children. They commissioned Sargent, and he also was to paint portraits of Albert and Edith Vickers and their children. These portraits of the Vickers were to become some of the most famous of Sargent works.
Our artists reproduce this figurative composition in oil on canvas by hand, preserving the tonal range that makes portrait oil painting so sought after for a gallery wall.
Each canvas is painted entirely by hand with professional oil paints on artist-grade cotton canvas. No printing, giclée, or digital imaging is used at any stage, so the surface keeps the slight relief and color variation of real brushwork.
This figurative oil painting wall decor is equally at home in a residence, a boutique hotel, or a professional office. Its realist character makes it a safe, distinctive gift for anyone furnishing a gallery wall.
In short: Garden Study of the Vickers Children - John Singer Sargent - Canvas Oil Painting combines a realist composition, a 100% hand painted oil painting process, and the flexibility of made-to-order canvas sizes — a dependable choice for portrait oil painting and gallery wall art.
