Choose Haymaking in the Auvergne 1855 as a hand painted oil painting and skip the compromise of printed wall decor. Based on Rosa Bonheur's original. Our artists rebuild the fine art composition stroke by stroke, producing timeless canvas wall art with lasting color depth.
Instead of The Horse Fair, the Duke of Morny commissioned Haymaking in the Auvergne. Over the years, the Salon’s jury awarded Bonheur medals to celebrate her achievements, and this one was no exception. She won a gold medal, and the painting later entered the Musée du Luxembourg. This was a great achievement for a society that seemed skeptical about exhibiting living artists in museums, or at least next to the old masters.
Every hand painted oil painting in this fine art series is finished on artist-grade canvas and checked against the original before it leaves the studio.
This is a genuine hand painted oil painting, not a canvas print. Our painters match the palette of Haymaking in the Auvergne 1855 by eye and build up the fine art forms in thin layers, which is what gives the finished fine art oil painting its luminosity.
Hang this fine art oil painting above a sofa, console, or bed to give a home office an instant focal point. Its timeless palette works with both minimalist and period interiors, and the piece also makes a considered gift for housewarmings, weddings, and art lovers.
In short: Haymaking in the Auvergne 1855 - Rosa Bonheur - Oil Painting for Home Office combines a timeless composition, a 100% hand painted oil painting process, and the flexibility of made-to-order canvas sizes — a dependable choice for fine art oil painting and office wall decor.
