Mary Magdalene at the Feet of Jesus - James Tissot - Oil Painting
Product Overview
From the first sketch to the final varnish, Mary Magdalene at the Feet of Jesus is made by hand. Based on James Tissot's original. This romantic oil painting wall decor is crafted on artist-grade canvas for anyone who wants fine art oil painting with the character of an original.
The Story Behind the Painting
1886-1894
Opaque watercolor over graphite on gray wove paper
Brooklyn Museum, United States.
As bedroom wall art, the piece pairs naturally with other romantic wall art and with warm neutrals, timber, and soft natural light.
Materials & Craftsmanship
Trained artists work in stages — underpainting, mid-tones, highlights, and detail — using traditional oils on canvas. Because nothing is printed, every hand painted oil painting has its own subtle texture and depth.
