Choose Medicine (composition draft) as a hand painted oil painting and skip the compromise of printed wall decor. Based on Gustav Klimt's original. Our artists rebuild the abstract composition stroke by stroke, producing art nouveau canvas wall art with lasting color depth.
1897/98
Oil on canvas
72 x 55 cm
Private collection, Vienna.
"Though you cannot please all men with your deeds and with your art, yet seek to please a few. To please the multitude is not good. "To judge by the outrage provoked by Klimt's Medicine, it seems that he made Schiller's maxim his own.
As living room wall decor, the piece pairs naturally with other art nouveau wall art and with warm neutrals, timber, and soft natural light.
From primer to varnish, the work is done manually on artist-grade canvas. The absence of digital printing is deliberate: it keeps the abstract brushwork visible and gives the art nouveau oil painting wall decor a museum-like finish.
As living room wall decor, this canvas brings color and texture without visual noise. It scales well from a small study to a large living room feature wall, and it is a reliable choice when shopping for abstract oil painting as a gift.
