From the first sketch to the final varnish, Poachers is made by hand. Based on Briton Riviere's original. This refined oil painting wall decor is crafted on artist-grade canvas for anyone who wants fine art oil painting with the character of an original.
1876
Oil on canvas
Riviere, who inherited Landseer's mantle as one of the greatest painters of animal subjects, returned frequently to the subject of poaching throughout his career. One of these pictures, depicting a wounded Poacher resting with his dog beside him, and entitled Companions in Misfortune was presented by Sir Henry Tate to his eponymous gallery in 1894. The attention to detail in the present picture betrays Riviere's admiration for Pre-Raphaelite technique.
Our artists reproduce this fine art composition in oil on canvas by hand, preserving the tonal range that makes fine art oil painting so sought after for a gallery wall.
Materials matter for refined wall decor. That is why this piece is built on artist-grade canvas with lightfast oil colors, applied by hand rather than output from a printer, and sealed for long-term display.
Style it over a fireplace, behind a reading chair, or along a staircase. Wherever it goes, this refined oil painting wall decor adds the layered color that only a hand painted canvas provides.
Whether the search term is fine art oil painting, gallery wall art, or refined oil painting wall decor, this hand painted canvas delivers the same thing: a real painted surface, made to your chosen dimensions.
