The Story Behind the Painting

circa 1912
Oil on cardboard
Private collection.

The figurative subject is rebuilt stroke by stroke in oil, giving the finished canvas the depth expected of timeless oil painting wall decor.

100% Hand Painted on Canvas

This is a genuine hand painted oil painting, not a canvas print. Our painters match the palette of Portrait of a Woman, Katia by eye and build up the figurative forms in thin layers, which is what gives the finished portrait oil painting its luminosity.
