Portrait of Achille Granchi-Taylor - Paul Gauguin - Post-Impressionist Oil Painting

Product Overview

Nothing softens a dining room like a painted surface. Portrait of Achille Granchi-Taylor by Paul Gauguin arrives as a hand painted oil painting on canvas, offering the figurative detail, soft gradients, and tactile finish that portrait oil painting shoppers look for.

The Story Behind the Painting

1885
Oil on canvas
Kunstmuseum Bern, Switzerland.

The figurative subject is rebuilt stroke by stroke in oil, giving the finished canvas the depth expected of post-impressionist oil painting wall decor.

Materials & Craftsmanship

Trained artists work in stages — underpainting, mid-tones, highlights, and detail — using traditional oils on canvas. Because nothing is printed, every hand painted oil painting has its own subtle texture and depth.
