Portrait of James Whitcomb Riley - William Merritt Chase - Hand Painted Oil Painting
Product Overview
Portrait of James Whitcomb Riley - William Merritt Chase - Hand Painted Oil Painting suits both traditional and modern interiors. As a portrait oil painting, it works as a standalone focal point or as part of a gallery wall gallery wall, and unlike a print it is genuinely hand painted in oils.
The Story Behind the Painting
1903
Oil on canvas
90.2 cm (35.51 in.) x 77.5 cm (30.51 in.)
Indianapolis Museum of Art, United States.
Every hand painted oil painting in this figurative series is finished on artist-grade canvas and checked against the original before it leaves the studio.
100% Hand Painted on Canvas
From primer to varnish, the work is done manually on artist-grade canvas. The absence of digital printing is deliberate: it keeps the figurative brushwork visible and gives the vintage oil painting wall decor a museum-like finish.
