Upgrade your walls with Portrait of My Daughters - Frank Weston Benson - Oil Painting. Every figurative reproduction is painted entirely by hand, so the surface carries the depth and variation of an original oil painting rather than the flatness of a digital canvas print.
1907
Oil on canvas
66 × 91.8 cm (26 × 36 1/8 in.)
Benson lovingly portrays his daughters as angelic idealizations of youth sitting in quiet repose at their coastal Maine farm. While young Elizabeth and Sylvia gaze upon a basket of nasturtiums, the eldest Eleanor turns away from the viewer, absorbed in her own thoughts. Bathed in golden light, this serene moment of leisure conveys the artist’s affection for his maturing daughters and awareness of their fleeting childhood. Utilizing his skills en plein air, or outdoors, Benson captures their likenesses, personalities and interactions with the world around them.
As living room wall decor, the piece pairs naturally with other romantic wall art and with warm neutrals, timber, and soft natural light.
Trained artists work in stages — underpainting, mid-tones, highlights, and detail — using traditional oils on canvas. Because nothing is printed, every hand painted oil painting has its own subtle texture and depth.
For living room wall decor that does not feel generic, a painted figurative canvas is hard to beat. It is a popular portrait oil painting pick for new homeowners and a durable alternative to seasonal poster art.
Order Portrait of My Daughters as a hand painted oil painting on canvas and add lasting romantic character to your living room. Custom sizes, a digital proof before dispatch, and secure worldwide shipping are included.
