Portrait of Professor Giovanni Costa by Sir Frederic Lord Leighton

Portrait of Professor Giovanni Costa - Sir Frederic Lord Leighton - Hand Painted Oil Painting

About This Piece

Portrait of Professor Giovanni Costa - Sir Frederic Lord Leighton - Hand Painted Oil Painting suits both traditional and modern interiors. As a portrait oil painting, it works as a standalone focal point or as part of a hallway gallery wall, and unlike a print it is genuinely hand painted in oils.

The Story Behind the Painting

1878
Oil on canvas
Leighton House Museum, London, United Kingdom.

The figurative subject is rebuilt stroke by stroke in oil, giving the finished canvas the depth expected of classic oil painting wall decor.

Materials & Craftsmanship

Expect subtle, hand-made variation rather than factory uniformity. Each figurative canvas is painted with oils, allowed to cure properly, and inspected before it is approved for shipment.
