Portrait of the Acheson Sisters by John Singer Sargent

Portrait of the Acheson Sisters - John Singer Sargent - Figurative Canvas Wall Art

Product Overview

Upgrade your walls with Portrait of the Acheson Sisters - John Singer Sargent - Figurative Canvas Wall Art. Every figurative reproduction is painted entirely by hand, so the surface carries the depth and variation of an original oil painting rather than the flatness of a digital canvas print.

About the Artwork

1902
Oil on canvas
Chatsworth House, Chatsworth, United Kingdom.

Sargent visited Chatsworth to discuss this commission in 1901-2. The portrait is of the granddaughters to the Duchess of Devonshire from her first marriage. The painting was exhibited at the Royal Academy, London, in 1902, where it received general acclaim.

The figurative subject is rebuilt stroke by stroke in oil, giving the finished canvas the depth expected of realist oil painting wall decor.

How It Is Made

This is a genuine hand painted oil painting, not a canvas print. Our painters match the palette of Portrait of the Acheson Sisters by eye and build up the figurative forms in thin layers, which is what gives the finished portrait oil painting its luminosity.
