Portrait of the Artist's Father - Franz Marc - Oil Painting
At a Glance
Looking for portrait oil painting with real brushwork? Portrait of the Artist's Father is reproduced by hand in oils on artist-grade canvas after Franz Marc. The result is a piece of expressionist oil painting wall decor that anchors a hallway and rewards a closer look.
The Story Behind the Painting
1902
Oil on cardboard
Staedtische Galerie im Lenbachhaus, Munich, Germany.
Every hand painted oil painting in this figurative series is finished on artist-grade canvas and checked against the original before it leaves the studio.
100% Hand Painted on Canvas
From primer to varnish, the work is done manually on artist-grade canvas. The absence of digital printing is deliberate: it keeps the figurative brushwork visible and gives the expressionist oil painting wall decor a museum-like finish.
