Portrait of the Artist's Mother (Rose Paxton) - William McGregor Paxton - Classic Canvas Wall Art
About This Piece
Portrait of the Artist's Mother (Rose Paxton) by William McGregor Paxton is one of those images that never dates. Our studio recreates it as a hand painted oil painting — textured, color-rich, and ready to hang as canvas wall art in a gallery wall, study, or reception area.
The Story Behind the Painting
circa 1902
Oil on canvas
68.58 cm (27 in.) x 55.88 cm (22 in.)
Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, United States.
The still life subject is rebuilt stroke by stroke in oil, giving the finished canvas the depth expected of classic oil painting wall decor.
