The Story Behind the Painting

Rue du Prieuré, le vieux Chatenois, Vosges, 1897
Oil on Canvas

Every hand painted oil painting in this cityscape series is finished on artist-grade canvas and checked against the original before it leaves the studio.

How It Is Made

This is a genuine hand painted oil painting, not a canvas print. Our painters match the palette of Priory Street, the old Chatenois, Vosges by eye and build up the cityscape forms in thin layers, which is what gives the finished cityscape oil painting its luminosity.
