Quai in the Snow (Snow at Pontoise) by Armand Guillaumin

Quai in the Snow (Snow at Pontoise) - Armand Guillaumin - Oil Painting

Product Overview

Nothing softens a bedroom like a painted surface. Quai in the Snow (Snow at Pontoise) by Armand Guillaumin arrives as a hand painted oil painting on canvas, offering the landscape detail, soft gradients, and tactile finish that landscape oil painting shoppers look for.

Composition & Subject

circa 1873
Oil on canvas mounted on masonite
Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute, Williamstown, MA, United States.

The landscape subject is rebuilt stroke by stroke in oil, giving the finished canvas the depth expected of impressionist oil painting wall decor.

Materials & Craftsmanship

From primer to varnish, the work is done manually on artist-grade canvas. The absence of digital printing is deliberate: it keeps the landscape brushwork visible and gives the impressionist oil painting wall decor a museum-like finish.
