The Story Behind the Painting
1912
Oil on canvas
100.5 cm (39.57 in.) x 70 cm (27.56 in.)
New Walk Museum & Art Gallery, Leicester, United Kingdom.
Every hand painted oil painting in this figurative series is finished on artist-grade canvas and checked against the original before it leaves the studio.
How It Is Made
Oil on canvas remains the reference standard for expressionist reproductions. Our artists apply pigment by hand, blending the figurative tones directly on the surface for depth that a printed portrait oil painting simply cannot match.
