Richard Gunstone, Steward of the Junior Common Room - John Maler Collier - Fine Art Canvas Wall Art
About This Piece
From the first sketch to the final varnish, Richard Gunstone, Steward of the Junior Common Room is made by hand. Based on John Maler Collier's original. This vintage oil painting wall decor is crafted on artist-grade canvas for anyone who wants fine art oil painting with the character of an original.
The Story Behind the Painting
1903
Oil on canvas
75 cm (29.53 in.) x 62 cm (24.41 in.)
University of Oxford - Magdalen College, United Kingdom.
Every hand painted oil painting in this fine art series is finished on artist-grade canvas and checked against the original before it leaves the studio.
Materials & Craftsmanship
From primer to varnish, the work is done manually on artist-grade canvas. The absence of digital printing is deliberate: it keeps the fine art brushwork visible and gives the vintage oil painting wall decor a museum-like finish.
