At a Glance
From the first sketch to the final varnish, Self Portrait in front of a Mirror is made by hand. Based on Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec's original. About the Artwork
circa 1882-1883
Oil on cardboard
Musée Toulouse-Lautrec, Albi, France.
The figurative subject is rebuilt stroke by stroke in oil, giving the finished canvas the depth expected of post-impressionist oil painting wall decor.
Materials & Craftsmanship
This is a genuine hand painted oil painting, not a canvas print. Our painters match the palette of Self Portrait in front of a Mirror by eye and build up the figurative forms in thin layers, which is what gives the finished portrait oil painting its luminosity.
