Still Life with Fruits - Pierre Bonnard - Oil Painting Wall Decor brings gallery-caliber art into everyday spaces. This still life oil painting is a 100% hand painted oil painting on canvas, created for buyers who want genuine post-impressionist canvas wall art instead of a mass-produced poster or paper print.
NATURE MORTE AUX FRUITS
circa 1921
Oil on canvas
The present work comes from the collection of Richard Rodgers, the composer who together with lyricist Oscar Hammerstein created the golden years of the Broadway musical with a string of hits such as Oklahoma!, The King and I and the Sound of Music. Rodgers received Pulitzers, Tonys, Oscars, Grammys and Emmys during his lifetime, and wrote more than 900 published songs and 40 Broadway musicals in the course of a remarkable career. He and his wife Dorothy, an interior designer, shared a passion for music, art and beautiful surroundings. Their elegant homes in Connecticut and Park Avenue reflected a mutual love of Impressionist and Modern Art, and this work is a testament to the considered taste with which they created their collection.
The still life subject is rebuilt stroke by stroke in oil, giving the finished canvas the depth expected of post-impressionist oil painting wall decor.
Trained artists work in stages — underpainting, mid-tones, highlights, and detail — using traditional oils on canvas. Because nothing is printed, every hand painted oil painting has its own subtle texture and depth.
For gallery wall art that does not feel generic, a painted still life canvas is hard to beat. It is a popular still life oil painting pick for new homeowners and a durable alternative to seasonal poster art.
In short: Still Life with Fruits - Pierre Bonnard - Oil Painting Wall Decor combines a post-impressionist composition, a 100% hand painted oil painting process, and the flexibility of made-to-order canvas sizes — a dependable choice for still life oil painting and gallery wall art.
