The Apostles' Hiding Place (La retraite des Apotres) - James Tissot - Oil Painting
At a Glance
Choose The Apostles' Hiding Place (La retraite des Apotres) as a hand painted oil painting and skip the compromise of printed wall decor. Based on James Tissot's original. Our artists rebuild the fine art composition stroke by stroke, producing elegant canvas wall art with lasting color depth.
About the Artwork
1886-1894
Opaque watercolor over graphite on gray wove paper
Brooklyn Museum, United States.
As living room wall decor, the piece pairs naturally with other elegant wall art and with warm neutrals, timber, and soft natural light.
How It Is Made
Each canvas is painted entirely by hand with professional oil paints on artist-grade cotton canvas. No printing, giclée, or digital imaging is used at any stage, so the surface keeps the slight relief and color variation of real brushwork.
