The Breakfast - William McGregor Paxton - Hand Painted Oil Painting suits both traditional and modern interiors. As a fine art oil painting, it works as a standalone focal point or as part of a gallery wall gallery wall, and unlike a print it is genuinely hand painted in oils.
1911
Oil on canvas
71.12 cm (28 in.) x 86.36 cm (34 in.)
Berry-Hill Galleries, New York, United States.
Paxton’s scene suggests his sense of humor and demonstrates his abiding adherence to academic compositions and techniques. A beautifully attired young woman sulks while her husband reads the newspaper, signifying his engagement with the outside world. The Breakfast proposes that the domestic sphere was a cosy trap for some women.
Collectors often choose this fine art image when searching for fine art oil painting that feels substantial rather than decorative or disposable.
Materials matter for refined wall decor. That is why this piece is built on artist-grade canvas with lightfast oil colors, applied by hand rather than output from a printer, and sealed for long-term display.
Style it over a fireplace, behind a reading chair, or along a staircase. Wherever it goes, this refined oil painting wall decor adds the layered color that only a hand painted canvas provides.
Whether the search term is fine art oil painting, gallery wall art, or refined oil painting wall decor, this hand painted canvas delivers the same thing: a real painted surface, made to your chosen dimensions.
