The Church in Cassone (Landscape with Cypress) - Gustav Klimt - Landscape Oil Painting Wall Decor is part of our hand painted oil painting collection from the Gustav Klimt Paintings selection. Each canvas is worked by a trained artist, then inspected before dispatch — a practical route to owning art nouveau wall decor at a fraction of gallery pricing.
1913
Kirche in Cassone, executed in 1913, is one of the finest examples of Gustav Klimt paintings. The landscape combines the rich trees with the houses that cascade down to the lake. The painting is the union of the architecture and nature, that comprises the harmonious composition, creating the dynamic surface, shimmering in the daylight. The painting depicts the Cassone village on Lake Garda in Italy, and it was executed during the artist’s visit to the region in 1913. Klimt stayed here with Emilie Fl?ge and her family, and during this time he completed three paintings. However, Kirche in Cassone is the last remaining Klimt painting that depicts the Lake Garda and the surrounding architecture.
Collectors often choose this landscape image when searching for landscape oil painting that feels substantial rather than decorative or disposable.
This is a genuine hand painted oil painting, not a canvas print. Our painters match the palette of The Church in Cassone (Landscape with Cypress) by eye and build up the landscape forms in thin layers, which is what gives the finished landscape oil painting its luminosity.
Hang this landscape oil painting above a sofa, console, or bed to give a hallway an instant focal point. Its art nouveau palette works with both minimalist and period interiors, and the piece also makes a considered gift for housewarmings, weddings, and art lovers.
