The Lady of Frankfurt - Gustave Courbet - Canvas Oil Painting
About This Piece
For collectors searching portrait oil painting, The Lady of Frankfurt is a dependable choice. Painted in layered oils on canvas after Gustave Courbet, this vintage work reads equally well as classic canvas wall art and as a thoughtful housewarming gift.
The Story Behind the Painting
1858
Oil on canvas
Wallraf-Richartz-Museum, Germany.
Collectors often choose this figurative image when searching for portrait oil painting that feels substantial rather than decorative or disposable.
How It Is Made
From primer to varnish, the work is done manually on artist-grade canvas. The absence of digital printing is deliberate: it keeps the figurative brushwork visible and gives the vintage oil painting wall decor a museum-like finish.
