About the Artwork
The composition of The Princess (Winner of the Oaks, 1844) balances fine art detail with a calm, considered palette after John Frederick Herring Sr. Reproducing it in oils lets the brushwork breathe: subtle shifts in tone, softened edges, and a surface that changes with the light in your dining room. It is a natural fit for fine art oil painting and for anyone building a collection of traditional canvas wall art.
How It Is Made
Oil on canvas remains the reference standard for traditional reproductions. Our artists apply pigment by hand, blending the fine art tones directly on the surface for depth that a printed fine art oil painting simply cannot match.
