The Rich Young Man Went Away Sorrowful - James Tissot - Canvas Oil Painting
Product Overview
The Rich Young Man Went Away Sorrowful - James Tissot - Canvas Oil Painting suits both traditional and modern interiors. As a fine art oil painting, it works as a standalone focal point or as part of a hallway gallery wall, and unlike a print it is genuinely hand painted in oils.
The Story Behind the Painting
Le jeune homme riche s'en alla triste
1886-1896
Opaque watercolor over graphite on gray wove paper
Brooklyn Museum, United States.
The fine art subject is rebuilt stroke by stroke in oil, giving the finished canvas the depth expected of romantic oil painting wall decor.
Materials & Craftsmanship
Trained artists work in stages — underpainting, mid-tones, highlights, and detail — using traditional oils on canvas. Because nothing is printed, every hand painted oil painting has its own subtle texture and depth.
