The Soul of the Rose - John William Waterhouse - Bedroom Wall Art
Product Overview
From the first sketch to the final varnish, The Soul of the Rose is made by hand. Based on John William Waterhouse's original. This pre-raphaelite oil painting wall decor is crafted on artist-grade canvas for anyone who wants still life oil painting with the character of an original.
Composition & Subject
1908
Oil on canvas
88.27 cm (34.75 in.) x 59.06 cm (23.25 in.)
Private collection.
The still life subject is rebuilt stroke by stroke in oil, giving the finished canvas the depth expected of pre-raphaelite oil painting wall decor.
Materials & Craftsmanship
Trained artists work in stages — underpainting, mid-tones, highlights, and detail — using traditional oils on canvas. Because nothing is printed, every hand painted oil painting has its own subtle texture and depth.
