The Watch Over the Tomb (La garde du Tombeau) - James Tissot - Office Wall Decor
About This Piece
The Watch Over the Tomb (La garde du Tombeau) by James Tissot is one of those images that never dates. Our studio recreates it as a hand painted oil painting — textured, color-rich, and ready to hang as canvas wall art in a home office, study, or reception area.
The Story Behind the Painting
1886-1894
Opaque watercolor over graphite on gray wove paper
Brooklyn Museum, United States.
The fine art subject is rebuilt stroke by stroke in oil, giving the finished canvas the depth expected of classic oil painting wall decor.
100% Hand Painted on Canvas
Expect subtle, hand-made variation rather than factory uniformity. Each fine art canvas is painted with oils, allowed to cure properly, and inspected before it is approved for shipment.
