Spring rain, redolent of freshly turned earth and newly mown grass, refreshes the winter-weary soul. Summer showers, often downpours from thunderstorms born of oppressive heat and served in a bowl of humidity, reinforce the magnitude of nature's power. Autumn sprinkles prepare trees, shrubs, and tired ground for their long rest; winter's watery gift arrives—sometimes liquid, sometimes solid, and oft times in the state of matter suspended in between. One can only surmise in what season Gustave Caillebotte (1848-1894) captured the precipitation for his The Yerres, Effect of Rain (L’Yerres, effet de pluie) (cover): there is no doubt, however, that Caillebotte's favorite subject-liquid sunshine-provided him with a plethora of inspiration.
The fine art subject is rebuilt stroke by stroke in oil, giving the finished canvas the depth expected of impressionist oil painting wall decor.
This is a genuine hand painted oil painting, not a canvas print. Our painters match the palette of The Yerres, Rain by eye and build up the fine art forms in thin layers, which is what gives the finished fine art oil painting its luminosity.
Hang this fine art oil painting above a sofa, console, or bed to give a bedroom an instant focal point. Its impressionist palette works with both minimalist and period interiors, and the piece also makes a considered gift for housewarmings, weddings, and art lovers.
In short: The Yerres, Rain - Gustave Caillebotte - Hand Painted Oil Painting combines an impressionist composition, a 100% hand painted oil painting process, and the flexibility of made-to-order canvas sizes — a dependable choice for fine art oil painting and bedroom wall art.
