Trussing Hay (The Hay Trussers) - Jean-Francois Millet - Oil Painting for Living Room
At a Glance
Looking for fine art oil painting with real brushwork? Trussing Hay (The Hay Trussers) is reproduced by hand in oils on artist-grade canvas after Jean-Francois Millet. The result is a piece of traditional oil painting wall decor that anchors a living room and rewards a closer look.
The Story Behind the Painting
1850-51
After 1848, Millet devoted himself to genre scenes glorifying the family life of the hard-working farmer population, whom he observed in the region of Barbizon. The thematic simplicity of these pictures does not belong to the anecdotal vein of genre painting. Millet paints the grandeur and dignity of peasants with thick, expressive and liberal brushwork.
The painting was exhibited at the Salon of 1850.
Collectors often choose this fine art image when searching for fine art oil painting that feels substantial rather than decorative or disposable.
100% Hand Painted on Canvas
Oil on canvas remains the reference standard for traditional reproductions. Our artists apply pigment by hand, blending the fine art tones directly on the surface for depth that a printed fine art oil painting simply cannot match.
