Woe unto You, Scribes and Pharisees - James Tissot - Hand Painted Oil Painting
At a Glance
Woe unto You, Scribes and Pharisees - James Tissot - Hand Painted Oil Painting suits both traditional and modern interiors. As a fine art oil painting, it works as a standalone focal point or as part of a home office gallery wall, and unlike a print it is genuinely hand painted in oils.
About the Artwork
Malheur à vous, scribes et pharisiens
1886-1894
Opaque watercolor over graphite on gray wove paper
Brooklyn Museum, United States.
The fine art subject is rebuilt stroke by stroke in oil, giving the finished canvas the depth expected of vintage oil painting wall decor.
How It Is Made
From primer to varnish, the work is done manually on artist-grade canvas. The absence of digital printing is deliberate: it keeps the fine art brushwork visible and gives the vintage oil painting wall decor a museum-like finish.
