Nothing softens a hallway like a painted surface. Woman Reading by Frederick Childe Hassam arrives as a hand painted oil painting on canvas, offering the figurative detail, soft gradients, and tactile finish that portrait oil painting shoppers look for.
1885
watercolor and gouache on paper
White House Collection, United States.
Our artists reproduce this figurative composition in oil on canvas by hand, preserving the tonal range that makes portrait oil painting so sought after for a hallway.
This is a genuine hand painted oil painting, not a canvas print. Our painters match the palette of Woman Reading by eye and build up the figurative forms in thin layers, which is what gives the finished portrait oil painting its luminosity.
Hang this portrait oil painting above a sofa, console, or bed to give a hallway an instant focal point. Its timeless palette works with both minimalist and period interiors, and the piece also makes a considered gift for housewarmings, weddings, and art lovers.
In short: Woman Reading - Frederick Childe Hassam - Hand Painted Oil Painting combines a timeless composition, a 100% hand painted oil painting process, and the flexibility of made-to-order canvas sizes — a dependable choice for portrait oil painting and hallway wall art.
