Carlos IV by Francisco de Goya is one of those images that never dates. Our studio recreates it as a hand painted oil painting — textured, color-rich, and ready to hang as canvas wall art in a dining room, study, or reception area.
1789
Oil on canvas
203 cm (79.92 in.) x 137 cm (53.94 in.)
Museo Nacional del Prado, Madrid, Spain.
One of several portraits of the King, this splendid full length portrait shows the king wearing a maroon silk tunic embroidered with silver. He wears decorations and the Golden Fleece, an exceptional jewel set with diamonds.
As dining room wall art, the piece pairs naturally with other classical wall art and with warm neutrals, timber, and soft natural light.
This is a genuine hand painted oil painting, not a canvas print. Our painters match the palette of Carlos IV by eye and build up the fine art forms in thin layers, which is what gives the finished fine art oil painting its luminosity.
Hang this fine art oil painting above a sofa, console, or bed to give a dining room an instant focal point. Its classical palette works with both minimalist and period interiors, and the piece also makes a considered gift for housewarmings, weddings, and art lovers.
Order Carlos IV as a hand painted oil painting on canvas and add lasting classical character to your dining room. Custom sizes, a digital proof before dispatch, and secure worldwide shipping are included.
