Upgrade your walls with Caught in the Circle - Charles Marion Russell - Fine Art Canvas Wall Art. Every fine art reproduction is painted entirely by hand, so the surface carries the depth and variation of an original oil painting rather than the flatness of a digital canvas print.

Oil on canvas

National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum, United States.
Caught in the Circle is one of the earliest Russell surrounds, and resembles an illustration in Buffalo Bill Cody’s 1879 autobiography. Less elaborate than those Russell painted near the end of the 1890s, its simplicity, the off-center arrangement of the cluster of men and the fact that they are keeping their heads down and performing no suicidal heroics behind the barricade of dead horses add up to an effective storytelling picture full of the tension of the moment and the unanswered question: is this group of frontiersmen fated to stand off the foes and survive or will they all die on the open plains, nameless martyrs to the cause of westering? The question itself seems ethnocentric and perhaps explains Russell’s later preference for showing Indian-white encounters from the Indian perspective.
The fine art subject is rebuilt stroke by stroke in oil, giving the finished canvas the depth expected of elegant oil painting wall decor.
Each canvas is painted entirely by hand with professional oil paints on artist-grade cotton canvas. No printing, giclée, or digital imaging is used at any stage, so the surface keeps the slight relief and color variation of real brushwork.
This fine art oil painting wall decor is equally at home in a residence, a boutique hotel, or a professional office. Its elegant character makes it a safe, distinctive gift for anyone furnishing a dining room.
In short: Caught in the Circle - Charles Marion Russell - Fine Art Canvas Wall Art combines an elegant composition, a 100% hand painted oil painting process, and the flexibility of made-to-order canvas sizes — a dependable choice for fine art oil painting and dining room wall art.
