Charles M. Russell and His Friends - Charles Marion Russell - Hand Painted Oil Painting
Product Overview
From the first sketch to the final varnish, Charles M. Russell and His Friends is made by hand. Based on Charles Marion Russell's original. This elegant oil painting wall decor is crafted on artist-grade canvas for anyone who wants fine art oil painting with the character of an original.
Composition & Subject
1922
Oil on canvas
106.68 cm (42 in.) x 205.74 cm (81 in.)
Montana Historical Society, United States.
In the painting, Russell situated himself prominently in the foreground, on a hilltop, seated astride a horse. He gestures with his left arm outstretched, inviting the viewer to meet his friends-both cowboys and Indians-who are riding up to greet him. The figures are set against a panoramic backdrop composed of the Missouri River in the middle ground and Square Butte flanked by the Rocky Mountain Front in the distant background.
Collectors often choose this fine art image when searching for fine art oil painting that feels substantial rather than decorative or disposable.
