Dead Birds - Francisco de Goya - Old Master Canvas Wall Art suits both traditional and modern interiors. As a wildlife oil painting, it works as a standalone focal point or as part of a living room gallery wall, and unlike a print it is genuinely hand painted in oils.
1808-1812
Oil on canvas
45 cm (17.72 in.), Width: 62 cm (24.41 in.)
Museo Nacional del Prado, Madrid, Spain.
This still life shows five dead chickens and a wicker basket. It's a companion piece to 'A Dead Turkey' also in the museum. It has an afinity with Goya's 'Disasters of War' series, dealing with death and painted in about the same period.
Our artists reproduce this wildlife composition in oil on canvas by hand, preserving the tonal range that makes wildlife oil painting so sought after for a living room.
Materials matter for classical wall decor. That is why this piece is built on artist-grade canvas with lightfast oil colors, applied by hand rather than output from a printer, and sealed for long-term display.
Style it over a fireplace, behind a reading chair, or along a staircase. Wherever it goes, this classical oil painting wall decor adds the layered color that only a hand painted canvas provides.
