Grand Canal: Looking North from near the Rialto Bridge - Canaletto - Oil Painting
About This Piece
From the first sketch to the final varnish, Grand Canal: Looking North from near the Rialto Bridge is made by hand. Based on Canaletto's original. This vintage oil painting wall decor is crafted on artist-grade canvas for anyone who wants cityscape oil painting with the character of an original.
About the Artwork
circa 1725
Oil on canvas
89.5 cm (35.24 in.) x 131.5 cm (51.77 in.)
Private collection.
Every hand painted oil painting in this cityscape series is finished on artist-grade canvas and checked against the original before it leaves the studio.
How It Is Made
From primer to varnish, the work is done manually on artist-grade canvas. The absence of digital printing is deliberate: it keeps the cityscape brushwork visible and gives the vintage oil painting wall decor a museum-like finish.
