Highway and by-ways - Paul Klee - Oil Painting Wall Decor brings gallery-caliber art into everyday spaces. This fine art oil painting is a 100% hand painted oil painting on canvas, created for buyers who want genuine abstract canvas wall art instead of a mass-produced poster or paper print.

Oil on canvas on canvas stretcher
83.7 x 67.5 cm
Museum Ludwig, Germany.
Using his "strata" as building blocks, Klee offers an aerial or "bird's eye" view as the landscape appears obliquely to create the illusion of perspective and relief. Here complexity emerges geometrically by successive doublings from a central "highway" to create "byways", smaller areas of dense strata, only to be lost again inversely by successively halving their number. Far ahead, the central "highway" appears to be approaching the water, probably the river Nile as Klee's "strata" paintings came after his trip to Egypt. Interestingly, Klee's imaginative title of this painting suggests an interpretation other than the cultivated plots for his colored strata.
The fine art subject is rebuilt stroke by stroke in oil, giving the finished canvas the depth expected of abstract oil painting wall decor.
Oil on canvas remains the reference standard for abstract reproductions. Our artists apply pigment by hand, blending the fine art tones directly on the surface for depth that a printed fine art oil painting simply cannot match.
abstract canvas wall art is one of the easiest ways to warm a gallery wall. Pair this piece with natural linen, dark wood, or brushed brass, and let the hand painted surface do the rest.
Whether the search term is fine art oil painting, gallery wall art, or abstract oil painting wall decor, this hand painted canvas delivers the same thing: a real painted surface, made to your chosen dimensions.
