Nothing softens a home office like a painted surface. With Two Dromedaries and a Donkey by Paul Klee arrives as a hand painted oil painting on canvas, offering the fine art detail, soft gradients, and tactile finish that fine art oil painting shoppers look for.
1919
Watercolor and gouache over graphite on yellow-toned paper
A turning point in Paul Klee's art occurred in 1914, when he spent two weeks in Tunisia. The watercolors made during this trip synthesized his earlier efforts to be both naturalistic and abstract, to unite "outer" observation with the "inner" pictorial logic of Cubist design. The color and geometry of these Tunisian watercolors, suggestive of indigenous textiles, would shape his work for years to come. Klee's original title for this subject was Entry into the Orient - perhaps reflective of his own arrival in Kairouan or the domed architecture in the background. When he reworked the sketch in 1919, he gave it the present title, thereby drawing attention to the tiny animal caravan backlit by the glow of a toned paper that suggests the heat of North Africa.
Collectors often choose this fine art image when searching for fine art oil painting that feels substantial rather than decorative or disposable.
Oil on canvas remains the reference standard for abstract reproductions. Our artists apply pigment by hand, blending the fine art tones directly on the surface for depth that a printed fine art oil painting simply cannot match.
abstract canvas wall art is one of the easiest ways to warm a home office. Pair this piece with natural linen, dark wood, or brushed brass, and let the hand painted surface do the rest.
Whether the search term is fine art oil painting, office wall decor, or abstract oil painting wall decor, this hand painted canvas delivers the same thing: a real painted surface, made to your chosen dimensions.
